FloodSafe Resilience Network LLC
MVP Lead (Technical) — Open for Early Candidates (Planned Start: October 2026)
Charlotte, North Carolina, USA (Headquarters)
Pilot Deployment in Thao Dien, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam
Remote / Hybrid
Company Overview
FloodSafe Resilience Network LLC is a climate-technology company headquartered in Charlotte, dedicated to building a safer mobility future for cities around the world. Our mission is simple: keep people, vehicles, and infrastructure safe when the environment becomes unpredictable.
We develop a unified 8-layer architecture — from perception and mapping to Hazard-Aware Routing, Chaos–Harmony dynamics, and the Meaning Field — enabling cities to understand risk, predict dangerous transitions, and move safely through extreme events. By integrating environmental data, routing intelligence, and physical infrastructure, FloodSafe provides actionable guidance for mobility under real-world conditions.
Our core systems include FloodSafe Routes™, which provide real-time safe routing during urban floods, FloodNode Parking™, which enables certified safe-parking networks during storms, and Hazard Manifold OS™, a unified operating system for climate mobility.
FloodSafe is currently building its first real-world FloodSafe Routes™ MVP in Thao Dien, Ho Chi Minh city (Saigon), Vietnam, where the system is developed, tested, and validated using real data, real roads, and real operating conditions. This pilot serves as the foundation for scaling the platform across major flood-prone cities globally, with Charlotte as the company’s strategic base for operations, capital, and long-term growth.
Position Summary
FloodSafe is currently building its MVP and is seeking interns to support development over a six-month period, starting May 1, 2026. These roles are designed for candidates who want to participate directly in building a real-world system from the ground up. The selected interns will contribute to the technical implementation of a live pilot that combines routing algorithms, environmental data processing, user interface development, and system integration.
In parallel, FloodSafe is connecting with early candidates for an MVP Lead (Technical) role, planned for October 2026, who will guide system architecture and scale the platform following the initial build phase.
This is an execution-focused environment. The work involves building, testing, and iterating on a functional system that will be deployed in real conditions. Candidates should be comfortable working in a small team setting with broad responsibilities and a strong emphasis on delivery.
Open Roles
(1) MVP Lead (Technical) — Open for Early Candidates (Planned Start: October 2026)
This role will lead the technical development of the FloodSafe platform following the initial MVP phase. The MVP Lead will take ownership of system architecture, routing logic, and platform scalability based on real-world deployment.
Your role and responsibilities
As the MVP Lead (Technical), you will take ownership of the system architecture and guide the development of the FloodSafe Routes™ MVP. You will work directly with the founder to turn early prototypes into a functional, real-world system.
In particular, you will:
- Design, build, and evolve the core routing system
- Develop hazard-aware routing logic
- Integrate environmental data into routing decisions
- Ensure reliable performance under real-world conditions
- Contribute to technical direction and implementation
Basic qualifications and experience
- Strong proficiency in Python (preferred) or Node.js
- Experience building backend systems and APIs
- Understanding of graph-based algorithms (Dijkstra, A*)
- Ability to work with real-world data (JSON, APIs)
- Strong problem-solving and system-level thinking
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
Preferred qualifications and experience
- Experience with geospatial or mapping systems (Mapbox, Leaflet, Google Maps API)
- Experience with routing, simulation, or optimization problems
- Exposure to real-time data or decision-based systems
- Vietnamese language capability (helpful for pilot coordination)
Compensation and benefits
This is an early-stage role with a flexible structure aligned with long-term growth, with compensation adjusted based on location, experience, and level of involvement:
- Monthly compensation: USD $1,500 – $3,000 (depending on experience and involvement)
- Equity participation: ~1% – 3% (subject to scope and long-term commitment)
- Optional performance-based incentives tied to MVP progress
You will have direct ownership of the core system, work closely with the founder, and contribute to a real-world deployed product. Strong candidates may grow into long-term leadership roles as the system develops.
Timeline
This position is planned for October 2026, following the initial MVP build phase. FloodSafe is currently building its MVP and connecting early with strong candidates. Hiring timing will depend on project progress and mutual fit, and there is no fixed application deadline for this role.
Note
FloodSafe is currently founder-led and independently operated, with a focus on building a working system before scaling the team.
The Software / AI Intern — Routing & Risk Engine and Full Stack Intern — Frontend & System Integration positions are now closed for applications.
Thank you to everyone who expressed interest — we received a strong pool of candidates.
If you’re passionate about real-time routing, sensor fusion, and climate resilience, feel free to stay connected for future opportunities with FloodSafe.
(1) Software / AI Intern — Routing and Risk Engine
This role focuses on the development of the core decision layer of the FloodSafe platform. The intern will contribute to the design and implementation of routing logic that evaluates changing road conditions and determines safer mobility options under flood scenarios.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and refine hazard-aware routing logic for urban environments.
Work with road network and map data to support route generation.
Process environmental inputs including weather data and sensor data.
Design and implement road risk scoring methods.
Build backend services or APIs to deliver routing results.
Support system testing and iterative improvement during MVP development.
Required Qualifications
Proficiency in Python.
Understanding of graph-based algorithms such as Dijkstra or A*.
Ability to work with structured data and APIs.
Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with geospatial data or mapping systems.
Exposure to simulation, optimization, or machine learning.
Interest in infrastructure, mobility, or climate-related systems.
